Export-quality Kesar mangoes are typically harvested from the Gir and Talala regions of Gujarat, which hold the GI (Geographical Indication) tag, ensuring authenticity.
The fruits are oval to oblong in shape, with a golden-yellow skin often kissed with a reddish blush. Each mango weighs between 200 to 300 grams and is carefully graded into A, B, or C categories based on size.
The pulp is smooth and non-fibrous, with a Brix level ranging from 16° to 22°, indicating natural sweetness.
For export, mangoes are packed in ventilated 2kg to 5kg corrugated boxes, with individual fruit wrapped in protective foam nets or paper. To maintain high quality, only blemish-free, disease-free fruits are selected. Mangoes are cleaned, sorted, and treated through Hot Water Treatment (HWT) or Vapour Heat Treatment (VHT) in compliance with the phytosanitary regulations of importing countries such as the USA, EU, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Gulf nations.
They are packed in eco-friendly, food-grade, ventilated corrugated cartons (2kg–5kg), with individual fruits cushioned in foam netting or tissue to prevent bruising. Labels include product details, grade, net weight, country of origin, and handling instructions.
